NEAHSI accepts Medicaid, Medicare, most commercial insurance plans, and patients who wish to pay privately. Additionally, we make every effort to make health care affordable for patients who are uninsured or have minimal coverage by offering a Sliding Fee Discount Program.

Paying for Care

Because of the expense involved in providing excellent medical care, you are expected to pay for services at the time of your visit to our clinic. Community Health Centers are not free clinics and are required to charge and collect a minimum fee when services are not covered by an insurance plan; however, we try our best to keep our fees affordable. In fact, the minimum fee for uninsured clients on our Sliding Fee Discount Program is $16.

Billing For Services

NEAHSI files insurance as a courtesy to our patients. If your insurance provider does not pay 100% of fees due, then you will be required to pay the remaining portion of the bill. We will be happy to work with you and set up a payment schedule after we verify the amount of insurance coverage you have. Medicaid payment is considered payment in full with the exception of your co-pay.

Office visits for physicals, lab, immunizations, and illness are billed on a per-office visit. We contract most of our lab services; therefore, any lab charges you may be billed are directly from the lab. This is in addition to and not related to our charges. You are responsible for the total bill. If you are a patient on our sliding fee program, your lab charges will be billed to you, but at a discounted rate.
