Behavioral Health Program

In 2019, Northeast Alabama Health Services, Inc. (NEAHSI) rolled out the red carpet for their behavioral health program.

The establishment of the behavioral health program came from an idea that services for mental health and substance use disorders should be easily accessible to persons seeking such care. The behavioral health program provides consistent, affordable, and timely support to patients.

Melinda Clark, LICSW, PIP Melinda Clark, LICSW, PIP pioneered the program in February 2019.

Kammi In December 2019, Kammi joined the program as Case Manager.

Melinda has over 27 years of experience working in mental health and substance abuse. She has served Marshall and Jackson counties. Melinda is a graduate of The University of Alabama (1992) where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree and went on to obtain a Master of Social Work degree from Alabama A&M (1996). She uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, but most enjoys the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Melinda desires to provide “good, sound counsel and respite”. She has a sincere desire to be an affirming and encouraging force in the lives of those who are placed in her path.

As the program grew, more hands were needed.

Kammi has worked as a clerical consultant in the behavioral health field for over 6 years. She has extensive knowledge of administrative tasks including scheduling, brief interviewing and follow up correspondence. She works very closely with our NEAHSI’s medical providers to ensure that internal referrals are managed in the timeliest manner as well as external referrals. Kammi has tailored her skills to meet the needs of various clients and is always willing to help in any way possible. Kammi brings charm to the program and keeps things running!

For nearly 10 years, Kari has been working to support the mental health needs of others. She began her journey by earning a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Jacksonville State University (2010) and furthering her education by obtaining a Master of Social Work degree from The University of Alabama (2013). Kari is a Registered Integrative Sand Tray Therapist providing a unique therapeutic approach to exploring self through a creative and calming experience. Kari is passionate about empowering people to recognize their individual strengths and abilities in order to restore hope and discover resilience.

The Behavioral Health staff are ready to assist you. You can expect professional counseling in a judgement free, caring environment. Your therapist will help you to identify individual treatment plan goals tailored to your individual needs. Your therapist will use a variety of therapeutic techniques to address issues in the most appropriate way.
